You will be able to check in for the QFLink flight at T-24 and select your seat via QF MMB. Altea would have already assigned you a seat based on your status and preferences in your profile.

For QF flights it allows check in for all connecting flights for the PNR from the check in window of the first flight. I have no experience with QF to BA, though.
