whatever platform, tablets, laptops (windows, apple, android) you can always disconnect from a particular wifi signal and tell your device to forget the connection.
The issue is that the hotels internet signon first time through adds your devices mac-address to list of allowed connecting machines and associates privilege(s)/extra info, like speed, expiry time/date
So when you reconnect to hotels wifi signal, even after you tell your own device to forget, hotel gets your mac-address and signs you straight in based on earlier remembered mac-address, without giving option to select/change from say basic to premium speed.
Most times you need ask hotel IT Support to add/update your devices mac-address to their internet security system manually
