You should be able to call in (or you dad) and cancel and rebook the reservation all in one move. Just do it before the 24 hour limit expires
Just did that and it worked like a charm. Even saved $1.50 as the taxes are slightly lower today (very random). Thanks so much for your suggestion!
edit: Actually we didn't even need to cancel and rebook. The agent was fine just changing the date with no fee since it was under 24 hours.
