Since this thread began, the Raphael has joined as an Autograph Collection hotel. It's on the south side of the Plaza...still walking distance to everything on the Plaza and walking distance to the "main" Plaza Marriott. One might even prefer the Raphael location as there's no hill to walk up/down like there is with the Marriott.

Last time I stayed there was 10 years ago. Older boutique hotel style...I remember we had a very long thin room and I've heard there are numerous odd-shaped rooms here. But could be a cool alternative for someone who wants a bit of a non-Marriott experience without sacrificing points/nights.

The lobby bar often had live jazz/blues...not sure if they still do that.
