Lol... when my sister got her BA Silver for the first time, she got a tablet welcome - literally the CSD came over and said "I've got a message for you"... and flashed the iPad in front of her eyes! When I qualified for BA Silver, then Gold - I got nothing.

From my own experience flying CE - only once I've seen CSD thanking Gold members (without tablet), most of the time this welcome is extended to all passengers in the Club Europe cabin -- especially on LHR-WAW-LHR route, where cabin usually is smaller (3-4 rows of CE).

From long haul - 1 out of 2 my recent flights on BA I was welcomed by CSD (no tablet though) and that was mixed fleet crew! 1 out of 2 on CX flight; 0 out of 4 on American Airlines...

Probably easier done in Club World then Club Europe, still makes me feel a bit uncomfortable when suddenly someone starts to talk to me while I try to settle into my seat
