Yep, since the new security went in at EDI the departures setup is that absurd serpentine route through the perfumes etc.
The new security was a nightmare as well to begin with, although it seems to go more smoothly now that the staff and passengers are more accustomed to it.
Shame though, with the old security I found EDI's departure setup to be absolutely world class, now it's just in the same category as all the other PITA airports.
