I see this has been waiting for a reply: there are many variables on this, but for the most part the Chase Sapphire Preferred is better even if you're looking for Southwest points. Their points transfer to SWA (but not companion pass-qualifying) or other travel partners, and earn double points for all travel and dining, not just SWA partners. The CSP has a good bonus at the start with the fee waived the first year; then the fee is charged annually but with no anniversary points. Anniversary points are one point in favor of the SWA card, but with the right spending patterns you can get more than that with the CSP.
