I used the No 1 last year when going on holiday, and it was pretty busy, but then it was a Saturday morning and lots of holidaymakers around.

That said, I managed to bag a nice seat on a sofa close to the window, and handy for the breakfast/ drinks bars. Another passenger was sitting on the opposite sofa, and we both had our respective sofas to ourselves the whole time we were there. Families seemed to prefer the curved seating or tables.

Was it worth £25 (plus a glass of fizz) - yes - I would have easily spent more than that drifting around the eateries and shops, and it was a quiet relaxing start to my trip, especially with fast track security included. The bacon roll filled the gap between leaving home and lunch on board nicely.

With the influx of BA passengers - I'm not so sure it would have been the relaxing and pleasant experience it was, and I think I would just go and find a quieter eaterie for a leisurely meal before going to the gate.
