I think the "one guest only" signs are common at LHR lounges also especially during holidays, where there are a lot of "DYKWIA? I have a Gold Card and I insist on bringing in my 4 family members as guests!" occurrences. LGW being heavily used by holidaying families at this time of year I'm not surprised they have a sign up.
