Whilst I don't recommend staying there, you should pop into the restored Reichshof (Hilton Curio Collection) which reopened last year. The art deco architecture, especially in the bar and restaurant, is amazing.
I've stayed there as well quite recently and was very impressed (not least because as a Maritim previously it was a complete dump). The lobby is lovely and the bar really quite pretty. It's not a luxury hotel in the sense of this forum, and the location is a bit iffy, but I'd stay there again.
