I had reserved a Jeep Patriot for a total of $402. When I got to the counter in Cabo (airport location), I showed them my documents from American Express (I have the DL Gold card, and their own rental agreement as they wanted to charge me "liability insurance" protection at $36/day. They persisted and they even had the page number written down to show within the AmEx Premium Car Rental protection agreement that liability insurance is not covered (1000000MXN for Baja California Sur). I was able to knock it down it $16/day, but be aware.
