For example, that chart only shows the number of crashes resulting in at least one passenger death, and counts 10 of these for TK since 1970.

...but 6 out of 10 of these incidents were prior to 1979.

Air France have killed nearly twice as many passengers in the same time period, but their score on this chart is only 8.
