This part is correct, I have a flight to catch outbound after getting to EWR.
But, if you get on at Aberdeen with your other ticket you can always call UA for the Amtrak reservation number and then give that to the conductor. I'm pretty sure that will wrk.
So I don't have to provide a physical Amtrak ticket to stay on the train in Philadelphia.. the conductor will scan me in with a verbal reservation number/id? Still curious to hear what other alternatives worked for others.
If this is your outbound segment, then be sure to monitor your ticket for your return, as there's a decent chance it'll get canceled and need reinstating. You shouldn't have a problem getting it reinstated (save your ticket stubs just in case), but will want to keep an eye on the reservation so you don't lose seat assignments or anything.
I also recall reading from a post earlier in this thread that to get on the Airtrain at EWR I can pretty much flash any Amtrak ticket or it's scanned? Since with the latter scenario, I'll just have an Aberdeen-PHL (Amtrak) ticket on me..
