I think the idea is that
palffy wants to buy and travel on a ZFV-EWR-XXX ticket, but wants to board the train in Maryland (with a separately purchased Aberdeen-ZFV Amtrak ticket) and stay on the same train all the way to EWR to connect to the flight.
In any event, you'll find that 2 days before UA will almost certainly not have loaded your ticket into the Amtrak system. But, if you get on at Aberdeen with your other ticket you can always call UA for the Amtrak reservation number and then give that to the conductor. I'm pretty sure that will w

If this is your outbound segment, then be sure to monitor your ticket for your return, as there's a decent chance it'll get canceled and need reinstating. You shouldn't have a problem getting it reinstated (save your ticket stubs just in case), but will want to keep an eye on the reservation so you don't lose seat assignments or anything.
