Why not?
Pisa is only a few miles from the seaside and well connected with Rome (several trains a day for a 3 hours trip -
www.trenitalia.com) and Firenze (1 1/2 hours). Lucca is in my opinion not to miss and as interesting than Pisa (but I know, you are tented to go always where other people had gone and talked about ;P)
Siena would be a little bit harder to reach if not driving a car.
