Be sure to see the Duomo, which is the grand cathedral in Milan. When seeing it, be sure to take the tour of the roof, which offers magnificent views. Just near the Duomo you can visit the Galleria, a swanky shopping area in a gorgeously constructed edifice. A modest walk from there will take you to the Castello Sforzesco, which has interesting fountains out front and is well worth a look-see. The main train station, Milan Central, is well worth a look too. It was constructed under Mussolini and is a magnificent structure. Directly across the street is the Pirelli Building, a tall skyscraper, by Milanese standards. You can still see the hole in the building where the small aircraft crashed shortly after Sept. 11, 2001.
