Mid-October, I'm arriving on a late evening (10:30 p.m) flight into Naples, a city I haven't visited since I was 12 years old and everyone tells me nowadays "watch out for the pickpockets". My plan was to get straight down to my destination on the Amalfi Coast, but what are my options so late in the evening? A friend who lives closer to Salerno has offered to pick me up at the train station there if I can find a train arriving that late at night. Are there other ways to get south, like buses that depart direct from the airport? The idea of having to go into Napoli Centrale station to then change to a southbound train is not appealing, but if I have to of course I will. I just want to get as far down the Amalfi Coast that first night, even if it's just as far as Sorrento. Any suggestions from experience or where I can look for rail/bus/ferry info?
