I've used it a few times, worked fine if the schedule works. Lot cheaper than a taxi or renting a car. Depends on what you want to do though since obviously it'll take longer than driving yourself, and it doesn't go everywhere.
I have taken the bus to the ferry, well something like two miles away from the ferry terminal. So that's doable if you don't mind the walk.
