I have to state that following my four night stay in January, I was underwhelmed.

I found the hotel was overrun with kids - now I don't have a problem with kids, but when parents just allow their sprogs to run amok in dining areas, the exec lounge and hallways, it can be a PITA for those who want some relaxation.

I requested another room as the one I was allocated was next to the elevator and the entrance of the club lounge and the rooms adjacent were service areas supplying the lounge and the noise was incessant day and night.

I avoided the Spiral at breakfast despite this option being included in the price as quite frankly, it was a zoo.

The rooms are dated and mould was very evident in the bathroom. Doors and furnishings are shabby and the hotel seems well past its heyday.

The lounge staff were excellent, however, the lounge itself was packed every night and again, kids screaming and jumping around on furniture was not conducive for a relaxing drink. Avoid seats by the lounge balconies where guests are allowed to smoke and the stench permeates into the lounge. Smoking and kids are also allowed into the sports bar as well.

Location is poor in respect of things to do around the hotel as there is nothing worthy of note.

I found the hotel overpriced, shabby and certainly not worthy of the Sofitel brand.

Others will enjoy the hotel I'm sure, but it wasn't for me I'm afraid.
