Acceptable handheld PEDs must not weigh more than 1kg and fit comfortably in the hand,
The Pro does not exceed the maximum weight but at 12.9 it does appear to be too large to be acceptable, as I have said we need confirmation from our safety services.
This confirmation hasn't happened yet !
I hadn't seen this thread and had been happily using an IPad Pro for the last 6 months on BA & AA. On a couple of occasions I have been asked to stow 'that laptop' at take-off, but when I said 'it's an IPad', I have been told 'that's OK then'.
However for the first time today, I was asked by the CSD to stow it and when I mentioned its provenance, I was told it was too big to be considered hand-held. I gladly complied, but asked her to fill in a report asking for confirmation from BA that an IPad Pro could not be considered to be a 'hand-held' device.
