As an aside, I've had too many suits jackets/coats ruined by oil and grease in the overhead lockers that I don't put my coat up as a matter of course now.
The overhead locker is the last place I'd want to put my jacket or coat too, and it's more than likely got bits and pieces in it that I'd rather keep closer to me.
