Have I run into misconnect issues on two separate tickets? Yes. Once in five years (that is, once in 400 such trips)... And when that happened, LH happily put me on the next flight no questions asked.
This is the only reason I'd ever consider a European FP. yyznomad, can you comment here? Do LH or other intra-European flights skyrocket in price like AC when tickets are booked last minute?

My sample size is rather small but I haven't noticed much of a difference in price....I'm thinking of booking on AC and perhaps buying the 2nd ticket once I land...to avoid the chance of a misconnection.
