I'm looking at some flights to Europe that have YYC-FRA-XXX-FRA-YYC with FRA-XXX-FRA operated by *A partners.

Price to book the flights I'm looking for on Expedia (found via Google flights) is about $3600, which is what I see it for on ITA Matrix as well.

AC wants almost $8300!!!!!

We're not talking about a few hundred bucks here, we're talking about more than doubling the price of a TATL itinerary for booking a couple of ~2-hour flights as AC codeshares vs the operating carrier's flights.

I know AC thinks we're stupid, but does it really think we're that stupid? I'm insulted. In fact, I might book this whole thing with BA out of sheer spite.

I'm a seasoned veteran of this and I refuse to play the game. I usually book the flight to europe on AC and then do a separate booking on any other European airline to get me where I need to go.

Only once in awhile are there reasonable fares from Canada and connecting Europe on AC.com.

Have I run into misconnect issues on two separate tickets? Yes. Once in five years (that is, once in 400 such trips)... And when that happened, LH happily put me on the next flight no questions asked.
