On my gold card I have an offer for 2000MR points for a £500 spend with apple, either in-store or online. Doesn't appear to be limited to the "first x number of cards to save". Also the wording might suggest you get 2000MR points, not 2000 extra points, but perhaps it's just poorly worded.

That's the first time I've seen MRs as the inducement in these kind of offers.
