Been to Northern Italy for 13 Feb's in a row. Cold but no tourists. About the same temperatures as Wash DC.

Went twice in Oct. Florence is packed to the gills.

I would go to any tourist center in far off season. If you are going to tour Tuscany, etc. go in Oct-Nov or April
