If you believe C+ does not provide additional value or worth over economy then it shouldn't bother you if you don't have access to it. If not having access to it is irksome/matters to you then by definition it is not worthless or valueless.
It is perfectly reasonable to say "I would not pay anything or more than a very small amount for C+." It is also perfectly to think that the C+ changes are an insult to loyal Medallions. What seems inconsistent is to claim to hold both beliefs simultaneously.

Now they are in the process of slowing taking away C+ and giving FF's MORE to worry about. When gate upgrades on DOD to first class give a FF that surprise seat....99% of us ARE happy. When gate upgrades (or Op-Ups) on DOD to C+ give a FF that surprise MIDDLE seat...99% of us are NOT happy.
I do not drink enough koolaid to view this as a good change.
If "C+ is no big deal" to you then 99% of the problem is trivial to solve: you can check the box to request an upgrade to First and don't check the box to request an upgrade to C+, since you don't care about C+ vs. economy. Op-Ups into a middle C+ are probably rare enough not to worry about, plus you can probably ask the GA for your original seat back.
P.S. I don't think this is a good change either, but that's because I think C+ has at least some value.
P.P.S. I do think it would be consistent to think the changes are a slap in the face, and that C+ has at least some value, and that Delta is delusional about how high that value is.
