It might very well depend on where one shops. I've mostly seen it hidden away somewhere in my personal experience.

I've seen that same system at Bob Evans and Big Lots, the former does not say tap but it was turned on anyways and both places prompt for credit and debit even if its a credit card. Kohl's did say Tap if they pressed tender I believe. Neither Bob Evans or Big Lots has EMV enabled yet but Big Lots should have it turned on soon and I'm sure they won't turn off NFC since they just turned it on so Kohl's must still support it as well.
I wonder why Kohl's doesn't promote it harder, especially since their store card is actually NFC enabled.
