Room type guarantee: Given king room instead of suite
I'm currently staying in Europe in a Marriott. Booked a confirmed suite stay.
Arrived at hotel and was given keys to a suite. Suite had very strong smoke odor. Went back to front desk. They checked room and apologized for smell and said they would need to deodorize for night.
Gave me a standard room with a king bed, with a promise to switch to another suite the next night (no suites available that night).
I'm a Gold MR member, I would expect to get the $100 room type guarantee for this issue, correct?
Am I out of bounds on this request?
