Although too late for the OP, but I use one of these little gadgets.... TrackDot. They are in the process of developing version 2 which is supposed to be more flexible, ie, can be use in other situations rather than just tracking airline luggage.

It tells me where my luggage is at each airport, so I know I'm not wasting time at a carousel.
