I recently had a bit of positive experience with BR 51/52 back in February.
On BR 51, we would be departing during Chinese New Year and in addition to the Hello Kitty motif, they added various decorations and showed a special Hello Kitty CNY video. They offered the two main meals with two different choices, usually one Asian and one Western. Menus were provided, even in Y. I prefer BR's seats as opposed to NH's seats on IAH-NRT. If you bring ramen noodels, FAs will be happy to fill it up with hot water. It was one of the longest flights I have been on at 16h30m, but it went by fast. We were given bottles of water and slippers. WiFi was supposed to be available, but it did not work for this flight, which was fine since it is mostly a night flight. IAH Menzies staff ensures that people board according to zone numbers. Flight load was probably 98% with me getting the only 2 open seats in the forward cabin. I asked the agent at check-in, and he recognized me after checking me in a couple of times I had taken the Singapore Airlines flights. Most of the locals returning home had come from a Princess Cruise.
On BR 52, a much shorter flight at 11h20m. I do like departing at night and arriving at night. Similar options of two meal choices for dinner and pre-arrival. Snacks were available in the back galley. They had completely shut down the mid-galley with no lights and curtains drawn. WiFi worked with a good connection. The processing line for American nationals was fast and we were done with US CBP in under 30mins as we were the only flight at the time. Flight was about 90% in Y with plenty of open middle seats in the 3-3-3 configuration.
Hope that helps.
