Personally, I thought that many of his ideas were good. AF is achieving a better position of its longhaul products and he must be credited with that. This is a major achievement because longhaul is the backbone (or whatever word should be used) of European legacy airlines. His focus on digital and on control and finances yielded results. Some other ideas were more questionable. But he tried to implement. I totally disagree that he shied away from confronting unions; and the hard strike by AF pilot last year is a proof. He might have won if the socialist government, especially a short-lived transport minister, had not assisted to torpedo his resolve by all kinds of backdoor maneuvers.

Admittedly, one of AdJ's main qualities was that he was soooo much better than his predecessor. PHG was (i) terrible for passengers (ii) terrible for the company (iii) incompetent. Even the powers that were recognized that and off-loaded him. What does he do these days anyways?
