There are still advantages -
Travelling to USA by ground:
- Nexus generally gives you a shorter line.
Travelling to the USA by air, and within Canada by air:
- Nexus gives you a faster CATSA security line at many Canadian airports
Travelling to Canada by ground:
- Nexus generally gives you a shorter line.
Travelling to Canada by air:
- Nexus gives you Global Entry, which is turn gives you TSA Pre✓ at US airports for your journey home
- Nexus allows you to enter Canada without having a conversation with a CBSA officer.
Anecdotally, the Global Entry by air experience into the USA at YYZ is faster than at YVR. At YYZ there are generally many fewer questions that at YVR.
