If you did the emailed self-print boarding pass, it will also say you ticket number on there.

Except that AA uses only Alpha PNRs - so basically that is 165.7 Million combinations. AA flies more passengers than that a year. Even if you don't have a unique PNR per pax, you have got to be recycling PNRs. Also note that a lot of times PNRs get generated for non-flight events, such as gate accompany or AA- internal business at airports.
Also AA has to remove ambiguous and possibly offensive combinations as well.
