Would be interested, as I'm going to be a bit short on SP to renew my Gold, so wondering whether I could buy APD on my Air NZ CC to earn the additional SP that I need, then just use the APD at a later date for something else.
If it's a purchase using a Platinum Airpoints card then can't see why not.
Only downfall with this is, if it does work, you'll just then use those AP to buy upcoming flights, and again be stuck in the same predicament of not gaining SP in the future because they don't earn when using APD....
Unless you are flying often overseas with SA partners, just buy yourself a Koru Membership
