I love hearing that they are taking such good care of you.

The GB was always our go- to- hotel in Athens even though the highest status I ever attained was *wood Gold.

But your comment about the room really being "the ONLY thing I've still got on my mind" is the exact reason we stopped staying there. The rooms are ALL different and while furnishings are lovely, there is a great disparity with the space and views and light. I couldn't take the suspense of waiting until check-in whether we were gong to get a coveted 6th floor terrace or a small standard double overlooking a side street that could be anywhere in the world.

Eventually we found the AVA Hotel where for the same amount as a the GB standard room we were guaranteed a 3 room suite with a sweeping terrace overlooking the acropolis. And the location was better.

It has become our home in Athens....although not in the Starwood family.
