I don't think that it is an issue of how people view this behavior. Most would find it unacceptable and won't do it. What I personally find strange and disturbing is that someone in 1A unaffected by what's going on in 1F gets so annoyed with it, and is so pre-occupied by that person that they count how many drinks the occupant of 1F consumes throughout the flight. I think most people for the most part are not even aware of what's going on around them unless it directly affects them. Would you want to be watched by a stranger the entire flight?
