How big is the YVR-SIN market? YVR as a transit point will have to compete against non-stop SIN-SFO and LAX-SIN (when SQ gets the A350-900ULR). And for any East Coast Canada/US passengers, probably slightly quicker connecting in EU/Middle East.
I just did both routings ex-YYZ and they took the same amount of flight time
YYZ-HKG-SIN on CX and SQ and YYZ-FRA-SIN on AC and LH
As you mention, SQ's A350-900ULRs will allow them to restart SIN-EWR and add LAX.

Just more reasons why along with all we've mentioned why AC really doesn't need to fly direct to SIN, especially when their focus is elsewhere in Asia etc.
