We are flying from LAX to KUL on 12/29 and with my award tix we have the option to continue flying to AKL and stay 1-2 weeks, then fly back to KUL and stay for the same amount of time. Actually I think with losing some days from the int'l date line, we have 23 days. Do you think I should concentrate on spending time in Asia alone or will I be missing out too much by not going to New Zealand as well? We really want to go to Rayvadee and maybe Vietnam (my dad grew up there), and we really like doing some outdoor type activities (hiking, kayaking, biking, etc...) so we have heard New Zealand is excellent for this. This is an early 35th b-day present for mr. spellbound2 since he can't get away at the end of Feb. so I really want him to have a good time, and he likes adventure. This is our first trip to Asia and New Zealand, so any advice would surely be appreciated.
