Folks are getting the JW Marriot cnr Orchard and Scotts, joined to Orchard Station underground for about US$70 on biddingfortravel.com

This is an absolute bargain and in the heart of the tourist/comercialised shopping area.

Concorde is a little out of the way, compared to this but is definitely even cheaper - ie as stated winning bids about US$33/night.

This is all via priceline, alternatively if you want to book directly, i've found

- Keong Saik Hotel (do a search on here) in Chinatown cheap and ok at about S$65/night nett.

There are also some quite good offers with Hotel Rendezvous (further down orchard, past the le meridien, etc) if you sign up to their club, about S$115/night nett inclusive of an american breakfast for two.

If you have status with Hilton (gold or higher), you can usually get the Hilton on Orchard Road near the Marriott for about US$100/night or so and the Conrad for a little more if you search around, plus odds are they'll upgrade you to an exec floor room with lounge access, which basically pays for a very very nice breakfast and alcoholic drinks and canapes at night (plus an extra stay up your sleave).
