24 minutes to cancel and refund miles for two tickets. And actually, that was a little longer than it should have been, because it was Mrs. lkar's account, but she wanted me to handle it, so it took a couple of minutes for her to authorize them to speak with me. Miles back in account immediately. They said "20 to 30 days" for a refund of taxes. I have since cancelled the card on to which the taxes are to be refunded, which may cause some complications on top of some of the stories about Lifemiles not always refunding taxes without prompting. It's about $70, which obviously I would like back, but I'm just happy to have the miles back. I was really not looking forward to doing this. Thanks everyone for the thread. Between the $50 booking fee, the $100 to cancel, and the $70 taxes which I may or may not get back, it was an expensive change, but I'm glad to have the miles.
