I have stayed at Sofitel So BKK and I can relate to orson_y's comments.

There is such a wow, glamorous and style factor that it serves only to highlight the lack of substance.

I also did not appreciate the wear and tear I noticed, though I found fun the style, concept, decoration, etc during my three night stay.

It is a hotel where one gets amazed at the many detailed things but... looking attentively one also notes that their minimum things barely work adequately, which is a let down.

Currently Sofitel So BKK must be Accor's most expensive hotel in Bangkok, thus service should be so much better than at other Accor properties. It is not the case where others' soft-product are way better - another let down.

It is a case of Style over Substance. Great for a one night's stay that one can state "I have been there, I have experienced it".
