I am only saying that it could be, depending on how you redeem the points. You need to do your own valuations.
To complement Chase Sapphire Preferred I would consider these three cards, all of which are free:
Chase Freedom Unlimited a new card which will earn 1.5 points per dollar for all spending.
Chase Freedom earn 5 points per dollar in categories which change each quarter.
Chase Ink Cash with earns 5 points per dollar in fixed categories including Office Supply stores, Telephone, Television and Internet. The Office Supply category is more valuable than it may appear because Office Depot/Max and Staples sell a wide range of gift cards which will allow you to earn 5 points per dollar if you patronize those other merchants.
Great question and welcome to FT! Mia gave you great advice for picking up new cards to compliment the CSP and gaining even better value. If you are to keep the CSP you should definitely start getting these but before you apply read the Wiki in this thread

In the meantime I say yes, you are doing great in maximizing your category spend with each card that you currently have. This is exactly what I and many FT members do when not focusing on meeting the spending threshold on a new card in order to get the sign up bonus.
