Welcome to FT, veembe! As a note of housekeeping, you've posted an identical question in this same forum, which is not permitted due as it splits replies.

A few thoughts you may wish to consider:

- Depending on what airline(s) you use, you're looking at at least 150,000 miles round trip in business class per person, and you're quite a way off that
- A one-way economy ticket back will probably cost quite a bit more than you think, possibly more than a cheap return you purchase from Asia back to the US
- Airlines limit the number of premium seats they release, and these are often snapped up quickly once they are. By the time you have accumulated the necessary points, there may not be any premium seats left. And consider that once you transfer the points to SQ, they're not coming back out, so an alternative, like CX for example, is out.
- Suites are very hard to come by
- All of this is even more relevant if you're restricted in the dates you can travel.

Just a few thoughts to keep in mind. Be flexible and judge whether or not you can accumulate the necessary points in time.
