I realize many here live to rejoice every time a blogger takes a
'hit' yet I'm surprised many of you are not more upset with Alaska over this nonsense way of conducting business to their
customer-loyalty program members. I myself have been an Alaska loyalist ever since I started traveling between NYC<>SEA but I guess I'm just not as sympathetic to AS over this shenanigans just because
'hah! the bloggers took a hit!'
Sometimes the hatred here towards the bloggers goes too far for many to even realize we all took a hit and got hosed by AS. I don't care that much that they jacked up EK redemptions
(even though I never flew EK F using AS and was actually in the process of piecing together enough AS miles for a EK redemption) - what I do care about is the underlying principle here and the kind of untrustworthy behavior AS has at it's core and this has shown me AS is
not all that they're cranked up to be since they couldn't care about their members before making such a change.
It is the difficulty times and decisions which separate the good ones from the bad ones ... and AS made a remarkably poor decision (for their customers) under pressure.
