After landing on a recent flight, I overheard another passenger say he'd watched Sicario for the 3rd time. Maybe he just really liked the movie so much that there was nothing else he'd rather have watched. But maybe he just didn't know what else was good.
I asked a filmmaker friend for recommendations from the current list (
Jan 2016), he replied it's an unbelievably good selection and you can't go wrong with any of the following. I thought I'd share, in case anyone finds this helpful. Of course you can find which movies are well-rated on IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes/Metacritic, but that's tedious when you're trying to find the one good movie left that you haven't seen.
