Just how many BoA CC can a person legitimately opens in say, a 5 year period? And if Alaska were to probe a little further and look at the activity of those people in the same household, seems to me, if their intent is to crack down on the so called travel hackers, per their public statement, then someone who is clearly gaming the BoA CC sign up bonus = a travel hacker.

If anyone still think 180K one-way is "cheap" because they can just go back and game the hell out of the system, seriously, I would think twice about that. Banks have started to life ban some people from all their products, I have heard stories of Chase and Citi doing that already. B of A, not yet but if I have to guess, they will catch up to the other two pretty soon.
At one point I had four of them. I know bloggers that have seven+. Alaska doesn't care, the more they open the more money they're making. That's why they allow you to open multiple ones. It's actually smart cause they know the majority of the people applying, and churning those cards are not looking to redeem AS miles from LAX-SEA or really any AS metal. So they get the bonuses from the sign ups, and don't lose out on getting THEIR flights filled with mileage redemptions.
