While I agree they should maybe make a way for the EK awards to be more accessible for elite travelers, it's not their ultimate goal.
They were happy dishing out these credit cards, and selling miles as much as we were happy redeeming them. I think they brought in 34 million last year alone selling miles. That's a ton of money for a small airline like Alaska.
