I'll leave it to others to compare and contrast the three properties of interest to you. I've been on the grounds of each but have not stayed in any one of them. Should you choose Aviara, and should you go to the Old Encinitas, walk south on the Coast Highway to Self Realization Fellowship Temple. Turn to walk toward the ocean along the north side of the property. You'll see an entry to the grounds that allows you to access their exquisite meditation garden. (You can not walk on their grounds otherwise.) It's a small property of great beauty. If you walk to the south side of the temple, you'll see a tiny public parking area for Swamis, an iconic surf spot. The Beach Boys mention Swamis in "Surfin USA". Go to one of the benches where you can sit and enjoy the magnificent view.
