• Two of the benefits, the additional 25% points per stay and the welcome gift, assuming you choose points, can be applied retroactively. Call Marriott Rewards after your new status posts and ask for an adjustment. They will likely give you the extra points as a goodwill measure.
• Several of the other Platinum only perks, such as MileagePlus Premier Silver status and the 48-hour room guaranty, don't seem applicable. Most of the other benefits, such as CL access, room upgrades based on availability, late check-out, work the same for Gold as for Plat.

If there is something specific you need from a hotel that you think you would get as a Plat that you are not getting as a Gold, call and explain your situation to the hotel.
