BA may not notice. I booked my sister a flight over the phone and the BA agent made a complete pig's ear of the payee details, mis-spelling my name and changing my gender. This did not impede payment, much to my surprise.
There was quite some confusion when they called me about a schedule change, first they asked to speak to my sister (not available, different city), then the payee for which they had something like "Mrs Fatland" instead of the correct "Mr Flatlander".
